Selector Lever Cable: Installation
- Position the selector lever cable to the engine compartment through the floor and install the selector lever cable to the passenger compartment. Install the nuts.
Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Install the LH side console housing support bracket.
Torque
: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Install the floor console. REFER to: Floor Console .
- Connect the selector lever cable retainer.
AWD vehicles
- Position the front floor exhaust system heat shield and install the nuts.
- Position the exhaust pipe mounting bracket and install the bolts.
Torque
: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
FWD vehicles
- Position the front floor exhaust system heat shield and install the nuts.
All vehicles
- Install the engine undershield and the retainers.
- Position the selector lever in D.
- Install the selector lever cable bracket bolt.
Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.
- Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 1 detent into D.
- Unlock the adjuster.
- Slide the spring-loaded tab forward.
- Lift up the adjuster lock.
- Connect the selector lever cable to the manual control lever.
- Slide the adjuster tab in place to lock the selector lever cable.
AWD vehicles
- Install the battery tray. REFER to: Battery Tray

FWD vehicles
- Install the air cleaner. REFER to: Air Cleaner
- 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I4. REFER to: Air Cleaner
- 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4. REFER to: Air Cleaner
- 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS).
All vehicles
- Verify that the engine starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
