Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

Adjustment 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
2. Position the shifter lever in DRIVE.

3. Remove the heat shield.

4. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the manual lever.

5. Position the manual lever in D.
   • Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise until it stops.
   • Rotate the manual lever clockwise 3 detents.

6. Unlock the adjuster.
   1. Gently pry the latch up.
   2. Push the lock tab to slide it down.
   3. Lock tab shown open.

7. NOTE: After locking the adjuster, pull back on the adjuster to make sure it is securely installed.

   Connect and lock the adjuster.

   1. With the adjuster lock tab released, connect the selector lever cable end to the manual control lever.
   2. Push the lock tab upward to lock the transmission selector lever cable adjustment lock.

8. Install the heat shield.

9. Verify the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
