Mode Select Switch (MSS): Removal

TYPE 1 - Drive Mode Select Switch (MSS) 

1. Shifter Button type Refer to: Selector Lever Assembly .

   Type 1 - 4X4 Select Switch 

2. Carefully pry the 4WD switch from the instrumental panel.

   Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

3. Disconnect the 4WD switch harness connector and remove the switch.

   TYPE 2 - Drive Mode Select Switch (Console Button) 

4. 1. Open the console door.

5. 2. Open the console compartment lid.

6. 3. Detach the console cover, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the console cover.

7. 3. Remove the bolts and the GSM (gearshift module).

   Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

   Type 2 - 4X4 Select Switch 

8. Carefully pry the 4WD switch from the instrumental panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

9. Disconnect the 4WD switch harness connector and remove the switch.

   Type 3 - Mode Select Switch/4X4 Select Switch 

10. Carefully pry the switch from the center console panel.

11. Disconnect the harness connector and remove the switch.
