Fuel Rail: Installation

NOTE: Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistant material. The use of ordinary O-rings seals can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.NOTE: The upper and lower fuel injector O-ring seals are similar in appearance but are not interchangeable.
Install the new fuel injector O-ring seals and the fuel injector retaining clips onto the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
- Install the fuel injectors to the fuel rail.
- Install the fuel rail, then install and tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Connect the fuel rail fuel feed tube quick connect coupling, refer to QUICK CONNECT COUPLING
.
- Install and tighten the fuel rail jumper tube bracket bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the upper intake manifold, refer to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Connect the battery ground cable, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT .
- Pressurize the fuel system, refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
