Pinpoint Test Purpose

To verify PSCM DTC P061A is present and provide diagnostics if DTC P061A is currently active in the PSCM.

1. Y1: VERIFY THE PSCM DTC 
   • Ignition ON, engine OFF.
   • Clear the PSCM DTCs.
   • Ignition OFF.
   • Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
   • Start the vehicle.
     • Make sure the engine ready indicator is illuminated for hybrid vehicles.

   Carry out the PSCM self-test.

   • Does DTC P061A return? 

   Yes	No
   INSTALL a new EPAS gear. REFER to Power Steering article . ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form. If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.	If the PSCM does not list DTC P061A, DISCONTINUE this test and REFER to the DTC Chart for direction.
