Steering Gear: Installation

NOTE: To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Install the steering gear, steering gear bolts finger tight. Position the front stabilizer bar.

Check and install the steering gear boot on steering gear as shown.

1. Tighten the steering gear bolt.
  Torque:Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm) Stage 2: Loosen: 360 deg. Stage 3: 41 lb.ft (56 Nm) Stage 4: 180 deg.
2. Tighten the steering gear bolt.
  Torque:Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm) Stage 2: Loosen: 360 deg. Stage 3: 41 lb.ft (56 Nm) Stage 4: 180 deg.
3. Tighten the steering gear bolt.
  Torque:Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm) Stage 2: Loosen: 360 deg. Stage 3: 41 lb.ft (56 Nm) Stage 4: 180 deg.

If a new steering gear was installed, download the PSCM configuration from the scan tool to the new PSCM. Refer to: Module Configuration - System Operation and Component Description .
