Pinpoint Tests TX: Motor And Generator Performance: Introduction

WARNING: To prevent the risk of high-voltage shock, always follow precisely all warnings and service instructions, including instructions to depower the system. The high-voltage system utilizes approximately 300 volts provided through high-voltage cables to its components and modules. The high-voltage cables and wiring identified by orange harness tape or orange wire covering. All high-voltage components are marked with voltage warning labels with a high-voltage symbol. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury or death.
NOTE: The hybrid transmission directional controls are electronic, unlike conventional automatic transmissions. Close attention to the transmission wiring harness circuits between the TCM and the transmission assembly when carrying out any wiring harness repairs. Make sure to repair one circuit at a time and verify the correct circuit and pin locations before attempting to operate the vehicle.
NOTE: When disconnecting the high voltage cables from the TCM, cover the TCM terminals to prevent water or from entering the TCM. Failure to cover and seal the TCM terminals can result in damage to the TCM.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
