Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the RCM sends messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN 2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the ABS module sets a DTCs. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the RCM, refer to the Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.
PPT BH ABS MODULE DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| U0151:00 | Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module: No Sub Type Information | This DTC sets if any one of the following messages is missing; yaw rate, lateral acceleration, longitudinal acceleration, roll rate or RCM status. |
| U0151:82 | Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated | This DTC sets if the acceleration data message is received with no change in the signal value counter for any of the stability sensors. |
| U0151:83 | Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module: Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect | This DTC sets if the acceleration data message received contains invalid stability sensor information. |
| U0151:87 | Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module: Missing Message | This DTC sets if the acceleration data message is missing for more than the alloted time. |
| U0452:00 | Invalid Data Received From Restraints Control Module: No Sub Type Information | Sets if the ABS module receives invalid longitudinal acceleration data from the RCM. This can be due to an incorrectly installed RCM, an RCM that has not been initialized, or an internal failure of the sensor. |
| U0452:86 | Invalid Data Received From Restraints Control Module: Signal Invalid | Sets if the ABS module receives invalid yaw rate data from the RCM. This can be due to an incorrectly installed RCM, an RCM that has not been initialized, or an internal failure of the sensor. |
