Steering Wheel: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: Make sure the steering wheel and the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.

NOTE: Heated steering wheel shown in illustration, others similar.

Remove the driver airbag. Refer to: Driver Airbag .
Disconnect the steering wheel electrical connector(s).

NOTE: Make sure the tick-mark on the end of the steering column shaft is on the top position.

Remove and discard the steering wheel bolt and remove the steering wheel.

Torque

: 46 lb.ft (62.5 Nm)

Tape the clockspring rotor to the outer housing to keep it from rotating.
