Body Control Module (BCM): Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. NOTE: If the BCM (body control module) did not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, As-Built Data may need to be entered as part of the repair. This step is only necessary if the BCM (body control module) is being replaced
    NOTE: If equipped, the PAM (parking assist control module) is integral to the BCM (body control module). This step is only necessary if the BCM (body control module) is being replaced.

    Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the BCM following the on-screen instructions.

  2. Remove the RH side front scuff plate. Refer to: Front Scuff Plate Trim Panel - Regular Cab/SuperCrew . Refer to: Front Scuff Plate Trim Panel - SuperCab .
    1. Position aside the weather strip.
    2. Remove the BCM access cover.
    3. Release the 4 clips and remove the RH side lower cowl trim panel.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    2. Release the harness retainer.

  3. Remove the bolt and the BCM.
