Transfer Case

All vehicles
- Using a transmission jack, install the transfer case and the transfer case-to-transmission bolts. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
- Install the transmission mount and the transmission mount bolts.
Torque: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)
- Install the transmission support crossmember. Refer to: Transmission Support Crossmember .
- Connect the vent hose from the transfer case.
Vehicles equipped with manual shift transfer case
- Connect the manual shift indicator harness connector and pushpin.

NOTE: Confirm clip and cable are fully seated (audible click sound), lightly pull back on the cable.NOTE: Push the cable onto the transfer case lever pin firmly and ensure that cable is fully seated on pin. Lightly pull back on cable end.
Connect the manual shift lever cable to the transfer case lever pin.
- Install the manual shift lever cable bracket nuts
Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
Vehicles equipped with electronic shift on the fly transfer case

- Connect the shift motor electrical connector and attach the harness retainer clips and pushpin to the transfer case.
Vehicles equipped with a U-joint flange
- Connect the driveshaft.
- Align the index marks and connect driveshaft and U-joint flange.
- Install the new U-joint straps and new U-joint strap bolts.
Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)
Vehicles equipped with a slip yoke
- Install the rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft

All vehicles
- Install the front driveshaft. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .
- If the transfer case was disassembled, fill the transfer case. Refer to: Transfer Case Draining and Filling .
