Steering Gear: Installation

NOTE: Hand start retainers.

With all retainers finger tightened, complete the tightening sequence, as shown below. Stage 1 on each retainer then stage 2.
1. Position the steering gear.
2. Tighten the steering gear retainers.
  Torque: Stage 1:52 lb.ft (70 Nm) Stage 2:120°

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Install the steering gear shield and the retainers.

Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Install the front subframe. Refer to: Front Subframe .
