Body Control Module B (BCMB): Removal

Adjustable brake pedal and bracket shown, fixed brake pedal and bracket similar.
All vehicles

NOTE: This step is only necessary if the BCMB is being replaced.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the BCMB following the on-screen instructions.
Vehicles equipped adjustable pedals
- Move the pedals to the full forward (away from the driver) position.
All vehicles
- Pull outward on the steering column opening cover detaching the clips and allow the cover to hinge downward.
- Disconnect the electrical connector(s) and the wiring retainer(s).

NOTE: The steering column opening cover brace is removed for clarity.
The BCMB is located above the accelerator pedal and mounted to an instrument panel brace.

NOTE: The BCMB bracket bolts face the bulkhead.
Disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the bolts and the BCMB.
Torque:
80 lb.in (9 Nm)
