Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

With the ignition ON, the PSCM sends messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame, the ABS module sets a DTC. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the PSCM, refer to the Network Message Chart in Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article. 

PPT AE ABS MODULE DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0131:82 Lost Communication With Power Steering Control Module: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated This DTC sets when the ABS module receives the steering pinion message from the PSCM and the pinion CNT signal value is unchanged.
U0131:83 Lost Communication With Power Steering Control Module: Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect This DTC sets when the ABS module receives the steering pinion message from the PSCM and the pinion CRC signal value is unchanged.
U0131:87 Lost Communication With Power Steering Control Module: Missing Message This DTC sets when the ABS module does not receive the steering angle message from the PSCM.
