Starter Motor: Installation

Position the starter transfer gearbox.

NOTE: The starter transfer gear box arm must be aligned and properly engaged with the starter motor bushing. If they are not aligned and properly engaged, the starter motor will bind.

Align and properly engage the starter transfer gearbox arm to the starter motor bushing and install the starter motor.

Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

1. Install the starter transfer gearbox, starter motor, bolt and nut.
  Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
2. Install the bolt.
  Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

1. Install the bracket and bolt.
  Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
2. Install the bolts.
  Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

1. Install the LH support bar, bolts and nuts.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2. Install the LH support bar bolt.
  Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Install the battery cable and nut.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

Connect the starter motor electrical connector.

Install the engine undertray and the bolts.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Connect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
