Intake Manifold: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  2. Remove the bolts and the engine appearance covers.

    • Disconnect the quick release couplings and remove the crankcase vent tube.

    • Detach the wiring harness retainer from the engine appearance cover bracket.

    • Remove the nuts and the engine appearance cover brackets.

    • Disconnect the throttle body wiring harness electrical connector.

    • Release the wiring harness retainers and position the wiring harness aside.

  3. Remove the center CAC outlet pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Outlet Pipe .
    • Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve and MAPT sensor wiring harness electrical connectors.

    • Release the wiring harness retainer and position the wiring harness aside.

  4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve quick release coupling and position the tube aside. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  5. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve quick release coupling and position the tube aside. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  6. Loosen the bolts, stud bolts and remove the intake manifold.

    • Discard the gaskets.

    • Clean and inspect all of the sealing surfaces of the cylinder heads and the intake manifold.
