Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 16 other vehicles, including the 2018 Lincoln MKZ, 2018 Ford Transit-350 HD, 2018 Ford Transit-350, 2018 Ford Transit-250, and 2018 Ford Transit-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

On vehicles equipped with a 3.2L engine, the TCM is a separate module from the PCM. With the ignition ON, the TCM sends messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within the specified time frame, the ABS module sets DTCs. This can be due to a TCM failure, a circuit failure on the HSCAN or an excessive load on the network. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the TCM, refer to the Description and Operation in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article
