Power Steering System Pressure Discharge

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment 

Flex Terminal Probe Set
 

Pressure release 

NOTE: Before disconnecting or removing any line from the vehicles hydraulic system the hydraulic system must be discharged. Even with the vehicle off, the pressure lines are still charged with oil at 90 bar and the entire volume of the accumulator will come out if a line is removed without discharging.
  1. Remove the door latch control module. Refer to: Door Latch Control Module .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the top front coil on the front hydraulic system valve block.

  3. Apply battery power to the solenoid until the oil level in the power steering fluid reservoir stabilizes.

    1. Apply battery voltage. Use the General Equipment: Flex Terminal Probe Set
    2. Attach to battery or chassis ground. Use the General Equipment: Flex Terminal Probe Set

  4. Install the door latch control module. Refer to: Door Latch Control Module .
