NOTE: When the TCM is reflashed, the TCM adaptive learning cycle triggers once the engine is cranked for the first time. If the engine and transmission are cold during the initial automatic adaptive learning cycle, allow the engine to run until the clutch oil temperature reaches 40°C - 60°C (104°F - 140°F) and carry out the following:NOTE: During TCM adaptive learning, the GSM will not allow the transmission to shift out of P. To check if TCM adaptive learning is complete, move the GSM out of P. If the transmission shifts out of P, the TCM adaptive learning is complete. If the transmission does not shift out of P, continue to hold the brake pedal until moving the GSM out of P results in the transmission shifting out of P.
Start the engine.
- With the GSM in P, apply and hold the brake pedal. The brake pedal must be held for the entire duration of the TCM adaptive learning cycle, approximately 2 minutes.
- Perform the following within 3.5 seconds:
- Press the downshift paddle switch 3 times.
- Press the upshift paddle switch 2 times
- Press the downshift paddle switch 1 time.
- Press the upshift paddle switch 1 time.
- Continue to hold the brake pedal and wait 2 minutes.
- Verify the TCM adaptive learning cycle is complete by moving the GSM out of P. If the transmission shifts out of P, the adaptive learning cycle is complete. If the transmission does not shift out of P, continue to hold the brake pedal until TCM adaptive learning cycle is complete.
