Powertrain Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing

Powertrain/Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing 

Adjustment 

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the fasteners and the undershield.

    1.5L and 2.0L 

  3. Remove the nuts and the bracket.

  4. Loosen, but do not remove the roll restrictor fasteners. Verify that the roll restrictor is loose.

    • Detach the coolant hose retainer.

    • Remove the bolts and the degas bottle support bracket.

  6. Release the tabs and position the degas bottle aside.

  7. Loosen, but do not remove the engine mount bolts.

  8. Remove the battery tray. refer to: Battery Tray - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I3/2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4 (414-01).
  9. Loosen, but do not remove the transmission mount bolts.

  10. Install the battery tray. refer to: Battery Tray - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I3/2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4 (414-01).

    2.5L 

  11. Remove the nuts and the bracket.

  12. Loosen, but do not remove the roll restrictor fasteners. Verify that the roll restrictor is loose.

  13. Disable the vehicle high-voltage electrical system. refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing .
  14. Remove the degas bottle. refer to: Degas Bottle .
  15. Loosen, but do not remove the engine mount bolts.

  16. NOTE: Be prepared to catch a minimal amount of escaping coolant fluid.

    Disconnect the coolant hoses.

  17. Disconnect the electrical connector and wiring harness retainers.

    2.5L 

  23. Install the power converter and the bolts.

    Torque: 18 Nm

  24. Connect the converter wiring harness retainers and install the wiring harness nut.

    Torque: 6 Nm

  29. Enable the vehicle high-voltage electrical system. refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing .

  30. NOTE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur.

    Start the vehicle and move it forward 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

    Move the vehicle in reverse the same distance 0.6 m (1.97 ft) - 1.2 m (3.94 ft).

    2.5L 

  32. Disable the vehicle high-voltage electrical system. refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing .
  33. NOTE: Be prepared to catch a minimal amount of escaping coolant fluid.

    Disconnect the coolant hoses.

  39. Remove the battery tray. refer to: Battery Tray - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I3/2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4 (414-01).
  40. Tighten the transmission mount bolts.

    Torque: Stage 1: 140 Nm Stage 2: 120deg.

  41. Tighten the engine mount bolts.

    Torque: 175 Nm

  42. Position the degas bottle on the tabs.

    • Install the degas bottle support bracket and the bolts.

    • Attach the coolant hose retainer.

  44. Install the battery tray. refer to: Battery Tray - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I3/2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4 (414-01).
    • Tighten the bolts and studbolt.

      Torque: 110 Nm

    • Tighten the bolt.

      Torque: 175 Nm

  46. Install the bracket and the nuts.

    Torque: 47 Nm

  47. Tighten the engine mount bolts.

    Torque: 175 Nm

  48. Install the degas bottle. refer to: Degas Bottle .
  49. Tighten the transmission mount bolts.

    Torque: 250 Nm

  51. Connect the converter wiring harness retainers and install the wiring harness nut.

    Torque: 6 Nm

  58. Enable the vehicle high-voltage electrical system. refer to: High Voltage System De-energizing .
  59. Fill the Electric Powertrain Cooling System. refer to: Cooling System Filling and Bleeding (303-03 Electric Powertrain Cooling).

    All vehicles 

  60. Install the undershield and fasteners.

  61. Test the system for normal operation.
