Steering Gear: Installation

NOTE: Hand start retainers.

With all retainers finger tightened, complete the tightening sequence, as shown in the illustration below. Stage 1 on each retainer then stage 2.
1. Position the steering gear.
2. Tighten the steering gear retainers.
  Torque: Stage 1: 70 Nm Stage 2: 120deg.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Install the steering gear shield and the retainers.

Torque: 9 Nm

Install the front subframe. Refer to: FRONT SUBFRAME .
