Using DRBIII(R)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Jeep Liberty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Refer to DRBIII user guide for instructions and assistance with reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and other DRBIII functions. Under normal operation DRBIII will display one of only 2 error messages: User-Requested WARM boot or User-Requested COLD boot. If DRBIII should display any other error message, record entire display and contact manufacturer.
  2. If DRBIII does not power-up, check for loose cable connections or a bad cable. Check vehicle battery voltage (data link connector terminal No. 16). A minimum of 11 volts is required to adequately power DRBIII.
  3. If all connections are proper between DRBIII and vehicle or other devices, and vehicle battery is fully charged, an inoperative DRBIII may be result of faulty cable or vehicle wiring. Go to TEST 1C: VEHICLE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS  under VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS.
