Charging System (Service Information): Generator: Removal: 2.0L
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to SENSOR, INTELLIGENT BATTERY (IBS), REMOVAL .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
- Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the right halfshaft. Refer to FRONT HALFSHAFT, REMOVAL .
- If equipped, remove the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Refer to POWER TRANSFER UNIT, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the B(+) nut (2) and remove the B(+) cable and position aside.
- Disconnect the generator field wire harness connector (1) and position aside.
- Remove the two bolts (1) from the generator.
- Remove the generator from the vehicle.
