Input Signal Check

  1. Perform INPUT SIGNAL CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING in this article. Check cruise control indicator light with SET/COAST, RES/ACC, and CANCEL switch turned on.
  2. A one-pulse signal should be generated when CANCEL switch is on. A 2-pulse signal should be generated when SET/COAST switch is on. A 3-pulse signal should be generated when RES/ACC switch is on.
  3. Signal should disappear when appropriate switch is turned off. If pulse signals operate as indicated, go to next inspection item shown on matrix chart in Figure or Figure . If pulse signals do not operate as indicated, go to CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH CHECK. To avoid accidental air bag deployment, see appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article before removing or installing steering wheel pad.
