Draining & Refilling

NOTE: On ES250, although vehicle is equipped with a transaxle, differential is a separate unit.
  1. On ES250, remove engine undercover. On all models, remove drain plug and drain fluid. If transmission oil strainer is to be changed, remove oil pan. Remove oil strainer and gasket.
  2. Clean transmission oil pan and replace pan gasket. Install oil strainer and gasket. Reinstall transmission oil pan. Tighten bolts. Install drain plug. With engine off, add new fluid through dipstick hole.
  3. Start engine and shift selector into all positions. Shift selector back into "P" position. Check fluid level. Add fluid to bring level up to COOL mark on dipstick.
  4. Recheck fluid level when engine and transmission reaches operating temperature of 158-176°F (70-80°C). Add fluid up to HOT mark. On ES250, install engine undercover.
