Indicator Light Check (ES300)
- Turn ignition on. Ensure CRUISE indicator light on instrument cluster comes on when cruise control main switch is turned on. Ensure indicator light goes off when main switch is turned off.
- If indicator light operates as indicated, go to diagnostic code output. If indicator light does not operate as indicated, check GAUGE fuse under left side of instrument panel. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck system. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect connector "B" from instrument cluster. Turn ignition on. Check for voltage between connector "B" terminal No. 1 and ground. See Fig 1. If battery voltage is present, repair open circuit in wire harness between fuse and instrument cluster. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.

- Reconnect connector "B" to instrument cluster. Disconnect connector "A" from instrument cluster. Ground terminal No. 4 and turn ignition on. See Fig 1. If CRUISE indicator light comes on, inspect wiring harness between terminal No. 4 (connector "A") and cruise control ECU. Also check ECU for proper operation.
- If CRUISE indicator light did not come on, check for burned-out bulb. Replace bulb if necessary, and repeat INDICATOR LIGHT CHECK. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster circuit plate (printed circuit). Repeat INDICATOR LIGHT CHECK.
- If replacing circuit plate does not correct problem, replace instrument cluster computer and recheck system.
