Cruise Control Switch Check
- Remove steering wheel pad. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Disconnect cruise control switch 6-pin connector. Use an ohmmeter to check resistance between terminals No. 3 and 4 while moving switch to the appropriate positions. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE CHECK SPECIFICATIONS table. See Fig 1.NOTE: If code 34 is displayed, carefully ensure resistance is infinite in neutral position, especially when switching between RES/ACC and SET/COAST positions.
- If resistance readings are correct, go to WIRING HARNESS CHECK below. If resistance readings are incorrect, replace cruise control switch.
