Vacuum Switching Valve

  1. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) terminals. Resistance (when cold) should be 30-34 ohms. If no continuity is present, replace VSV.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, ensure there is no continuity between each terminal and body of VSV. If continuity is present, replace VSV.
  3. Blow into VSV port closest to VSV terminals. Air should flow with difficulty from other port. Apply battery voltage across VSV terminals. Air should flow without resistance. If airflow is not as specified, replace VSV.
