Ecu Ground Circuit Test

  1. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between body ground and ECU ground circuit (terminal No. 7). See Fig 1. Resistance should be one ohm or less. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, check ground circuit and repair as necessary.
  2. Disconnect ECU connector. Inspect connector terminals on ECU and ECU harness connector for bent, loose or broken connector terminals. Repair as necessary. If terminals are okay, replace ECU with known good ECU. Check for same malfunction to occur. If malfunction still occurs, see TROUBLE SHOOTING . If malfunction does not occur, original ECU was faulty.
