Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

PROCEDURE





1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance across the terminals.

at -20°C (-4°F): 10 - 20 k ohms
at 0°C (32°F): 4 - 7 k 0hms
at 20°C (68°F): 2 - 3 k ohms
at 40°C (104°F): 0.9 - 1.3 k ohms
at 60°C (140°F): 0.4 - 0.7 k ohms
at 80°C (176°F): 0.2 - 0.4 k ohms

If the resistance is not as specified replace the Sensor.
