Door Unlock Detection Switch Circuit Test

  1. Door unlock detection switch is built into door lock motor assembly. Switch is off when door lock knob is in lock position, and on when knob is in unlock position. When door unlock detection switch is off, battery voltage is applied to remote door lock ECU.
  2. Gain access to remote door lock ECU. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and ECU terminals No. 3, 7 and 10, with doors locked. See Figure. Voltage should be 10-14 volts.
  3. If voltage is as specified, circuit is okay. If voltage is not as specified, check and repair wiring circuit(s) between remote door lock ECU and door unlock detection switch as necessary.
