Installation (ES300)

  1. Ensure No. 1 piston is still at TDC of compression stroke. Install new "O" ring onto distributor housing. Lightly coat "O" ring with oil. Align cut-out marks of distributor coupling and housing. See Fig 1. Install distributor, and lightly tighten hold-down bolts.
  2. Reconnect spark plug, coil wires and distributor connector. Install airflow meter, air cleaner cover and hoses. Start engine and allow to warm up. Check ignition timing. See information in ADJUSTMENTS article. Tighten distributor hold-down bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE  at the end of this article.
