Cruise Control (MAIN) Switch Check

  1. Remove steering wheel pad. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Disconnect cruise control switch 6-pin connector. Use an ohmmeter to check continuity between terminals No. 3 and 5. See Figure.
  2. With MAIN switch in OFF position, continuity should not exist. With MAIN switch held in ON position, continuity should exist. If continuity is correct, go to WIRING HARNESS CHECK. If continuity is incorrect, replace cruise control switch.
