Dashpot (GS300 & SC300)

  1. Start engine, and warm it to operating temperature. Put transmission in Neutral. Ensure idle speed is 650-750 RPM (M/T) or 600-700 RPM (A/T). Push dashpot rod all the way with a screwdriver and verify dashpot setting speed of 1300-2200 RPM (A/T) or 2200-3200 RPM (M/T). If engine speed is not as specified, adjust dashpot screw.
  2. To check throttle opener, warm engine to normal operating temperature. Put transmission in Neutral. Ensure idle speed is 650-750 RPM (M/T) or 600-700 RPM (A/T). Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle opener, and plug hose end. Maintain engine speed at 2500 RPM. Release throttle valve and ensure throttle opener is set at 1100-1900 RPM. If throttle opener setting is not as specified, replace throttle body. Reconnect vacuum hose.
