Description & Operation: Notes
Power mirrors are controlled by a dual control switch on left side of instrument panel. The position of the select switch determines whether the left or right mirror will be adjusted. The directional switch directs current to the mirror motors. Mirror and motor are serviced as an assembly. Mirror defogger is an integral part of mirror. See REAR WINDOW & SIDE MIRROR DEFOGGERS article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
On some LS400 vehicles, the mirror position can be stored in memory. The position can be recalled by pressing a button on the driver's door.
The inside rearview mirror has a liquid crystal glass. When switch on bottom of mirror frame is activated, mirror surface changes from bright to dark to reduce glare. Key unlock warning switch (part of ignition switch) provides ground so the mirror will only change when key is in ignition.
