Window Motor & Regulator Assembly
CAUTION:
To keep from scratching door trim components, put tape on tip of screwdriver before prying components from door.
NOTE:
To service motor and regulator separately, remove assembly. It may not be necessary to remove all components listed (manufacturer's procedure is for disassembly of entire door).
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove upper garnish (triangle-shaped trim piece near mirror). Carefully pry up rear edge of switch base plate, then pull it rearward to remove it.
- Remove bezel from inner door handle by prying it out. Remove courtesy light. Remove the following screws that secure door trim panel:
- Four screws at bottom of panel
- One screw at rear edge of panel (hook)
- One screw under armrest
- One screw in upper right corner of panel
- One screw accessible through switch base plate hole.
- Pry door trim panel away from door to release retainer clips. Pull door trim panel upward to disengage it from door. Remove door frame garnish. Carefully remove weatherstrip (do not pull hard; use a clip remover to disengage clips). Remove outside rear view mirror. Remove speaker. Disconnect wire harness from clips. Using clip remover, remove 2 screw grommets that secure service hole cover. Carefully pull service hole cover away from door.
- Remove door check (door check keeps door from opening too far). Remove bezel from inner door handle by prying it out. Disconnect lock link rods as necessary. Remove door glass guides and door glass.
- Remove door belt moulding from top edge of door (secured by 9 screws and several clips). Unplug window motor connector. Remove 4 bolts securing window motor and regulator assembly, then remove assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Pry up ashtray. Remove screw under ashtray. Pry up the rear edge of switch base plate, then pull it rearward to remove it. Remove bezel from inner door handle by prying it out. Remove courtesy light.
- Remove 2 screws under armrest. Remove screw cover and screw from rear end of door trim panel. Pry door trim panel away from door to release retainer clips. Pull door trim panel upward to disengage it from door.
- Remove door frame garnish. Remove weatherstrip with a clip remover. Remove speaker. Disconnect wire harness from clips. Remove screw grommets that secure service hole cover. Carefully pull service hole cover away from door. Remove inside door handle assembly (remove 2 screws and disengage 2 links).
- Disconnect and remove lock link rods. Remove door glass guides and door glass. Remove door belt moulding. Unplug window motor connector. Remove 4 bolts securing window motor and regulator assembly, then remove assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.
