Steering Column: Reassembly

Assemble steering column in reverse order of disassembly. Lubricate all pivot points and bearing surfaces. Using a vise, press in upper tube tilt steering shafts. See Fig 1.

Install tilt steering gear assembly with motor. Press in No. 2 tilt steering shafts. See Fig 2. Install upper bracket with 2 NEW tapered head bolts. Tighten bolts until heads break off. Continue to reassemble column in reverse order of disassembly.
