Fuel Level Warning Light System Test

  1. Disconnect connector "A" from instrument cluster. See Figure. At instrument cluster side of connector "A", ground the following terminal. Turn ignition on.
  2. If light comes on, go to next step. If light does not come on, check bulb. If bulb is okay, replace circuit plate. See Figure.
  3. Disconnect electrical connector from fuel gauge sending unit. Connect a jumper wire between the following terminals of sending unit connector (harness side of connector).
    • Terminals No. 1 and 2. See Fig 1.
  4. Turn ignition on. If warning light comes on, replace fuel level warning light switch (integral part of sending unit). If warning light does not come on, repair circuit between instrument cluster and sending unit.
