Throttle Position (TP) Sensor
NOTE:
Vehicles with Traction Control System (TRAC) are equipped with a main TP sensor and a sub-TP sensor. The following procedure applies to main TP sensor. For sub-TP sensor, see SUB-THROTTLE POSITION (SUB-TP) SENSOR .
Disconnect TP sensor connector. Measure resistance across specified terminals of TP sensor connector. See TP SENSOR RESISTANCE table. See Fig 1. If resistance is not as specified, adjust TP sensor. See THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR in ADJUSTMENTS
article in this section. Recheck resistance. If resistance is still not as specified, replace TP sensor.
