Power Steering Pump: Reassembly

  1. Lubricate all moving parts with power steering fluid. Press shaft and bearing into housing. Install snap ring. Using plastic mallet, tap pins into place. Install cam ring with mark facing outward. Install rotor onto shaft with mark facing outward. Install vane plates.
  2. Install rear side plate. Install wave washer. Install rear housing. Measure rotating torque. Rotating torque should not exceed 1.8 INCH lbs. (0.2 N.m). Pump should rotate freely with no abnormal noise. Install spring, flow control valve, and pressure port fitting. Install reservoir. Install pulley.
