Data Link Connector: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The Data Link Connector is used to trigger the self diagnostic capabilities of the Engine Control Module (ECM) as well as allow tachometer hookup and other selected functions.

OPERATION
By connecting the Data Link Connector terminals as described in several test procedures shown later it is possible to control fuel pump operation, access the ignition signal for tachometer hookup, and several other functions including access of any Data Trouble Codes stored in the Engine Control Module.
