Actuator Check

  1. Turn ignition off. Ensure battery voltage is 10-14 volts. Disconnect 2 harness connectors from actuator. Connect Test Harness "E" (09990-00210), Test Harness "G" (09990-00250) and Test Harness "H" (09990-00280) to actuator connectors. Connect Actuator Checker (09990-00150) to test harnesses "E" and "G" connectors.
  2. Connect actuator checker positive and negative cables to vehicle battery. Connect test harnesses "E" and "H" Black cable to negative battery terminal or a body ground. Start engine and operate at idle.
  3. Start engine, and run at idle. Turn actuator checker selector switch to FRONT RH position. See Fig 1. Press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Depress and hold brake pedal, and check that pedal returns. Press MAIN switch for 10 seconds. When MAIN switch is pressed, brake pedal should not go down. When MAIN switch is released, brake pedal should go down. Press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Brake pedal should return.
  4. Release brake pedal. Press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Depress brake pedal and hold for 15 seconds. While holding brake pedal down, press SUB-MOTOR switch again for a few seconds. Brake pedal should not pulsate.
  5. Repeat step 2 for FRONT LH and REAR positions of selector switch. After checking remaining wheels, press and hold SUB MOTOR switch for a few seconds. Remove actuator checker and test harnesses. Reconnect vehicle harnesses to actuator and control relay.
  6. Clear any diagnostic codes. See CLEARING CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If any actuator solenoid does not test as indicated, see ABS ACTUATOR SOLENOID under COMPONENT TESTING.
