Fuel Level Warning Light Switch Test
- Remove fuel gauge sending unit. Apply battery voltage across the following terminals of fuel gauge sending unit connector (sending unit side of connector).
- Connect a 3.4-watt test light between battery positive terminal and sending unit connector. Test light should come on after a few moments. Submerge entire sending unit (or fuel level sensor portion) in a container of fuel. Test light should go out. If operation is not as specified, replace sending unit.
