Intermittent Feature Test

  1. Disconnect wiper/washer switch connector "B". See Figure. Move switch lever to INT position. Turn interval wheel to FAST position. Apply battery voltage across terminals No. 18 (+) and 16 (-). Connect voltmeter between terminals No. 7 (+) and 16 (-). If battery voltage is not present, replace switch.
  2. If battery voltage is present, leave battery and voltmeter connected. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 4 and 18. Move probe from terminal No. 18 to terminal No. 16.
  3. With time interval wheel in FAST position, needle should jump from zero volts to battery voltage after a delay of about 1-2 seconds. With time interval wheel in SLOW position, needle should jump from zero volts to battery voltage after a delay of about 5-15 seconds. If voltage is not as specified, replace switch.
