Buzzer Circuit Test

  1. Remove buzzer. Measure resistance between buzzer terminals. If resistance is not about 1000 ohms, replace buzzer. If resistance is about 1000 ohms, remove buzzer volume control. Measure resistance between terminals of buzzer volume control. If resistance is not as follows, replace buzzer volume control.
    • OFF - No continuity (infinite ohms).
    • Minimum - About 10,000 ohms.
    • Maximum - Continuity (zero ohms).
  2. If resistance is okay, leave electrical connector attached to remote door lock ECU. Connect voltmeter between chassis ground and terminal No. 1 of remote door lock ECU connector (backprobe the terminal). See Figure. While locking and unlocking doors with transmitter, note voltage signal each time the button is pressed.
  3. During lock mode, one voltage signal should be indicated. During unlock mode, 2 voltage signals should be indicated. If voltage signals are incorrect, replace remote door lock ECU. If voltage signals are okay, repair wiring harness.
