Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION:

INSPECT RESISTANCE OF VOLUME AIR FLOW (VAF) METER:
- Disconnect the VAF meter connector.





- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals THA and E2.

Temperature Resistance
-20°C (-4°F) 10 - 20 k Ohms
0°C (32°F) 4 - 7 k Ohms
20°C (68°F) 2 - 3 k Ohms
40°C (104°F) 0.9 - 1.3 k Ohms
60°C (140°F) 0.4 - 0.7 k Ohms

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the VAF meter.
- Reconnect the VAF meter connector.

OFF-VEHICLE INSPECTION:





- Check that the honeycomb is neither deformed not damaged.
- If necessary, replace the VAF meter.
