Brake Pedal Height

  1. Disconnect stoplight switch connector and remove stoplight switch. Brake pedal height is measured from face of brake pedal pad to asphalt sheet under carpet. See Fig 1.
  2. Brake pedal height should be 5.92-6.31" (150.4-160.3 mm). If brake pedal height is not as specified, loosen brake pedal push rod lock nut. Adjust pedal height by turning push rod.
  3. After adjusting brake pedal height, tighten push rod lock nut to 19 ft. lbs. (25 N.m). Install and adjust stoplight switch. See STOPLIGHT SWITCH. Check and adjust brake pedal free play. See BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY.
