Actuator Check (With TRAC System)
NOTE:
Actuator Checker (SST 09990-00150) and Sheet "A" (SST 09990-00163) are needed to perform actuator check.
- Turn ignition off. Ensure battery voltage is 10-14 volts. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect actuator electrical connectors. Connect Actuator Checker (SST 09990-00150) to actuator. Connect actuator checker positive and negative power cables to vehicle battery.
- Place Sheet "A" (SST 09990-00163) on actuator checker. Install air cleaner assembly. Start engine and operate at idle. Turn SELECTOR SWITCH knob of actuator checker to FRONT RH position. See Fig 1 and Fig 2
. Press MOTOR SWITCH button for a few seconds. Press brake pedal and hold it in position until step 3) is completed.NOTE: DO NOT keep POWER SWITCH button pressed for more than 10 seconds.
- Press POWER SWITCH button, and ensure brake pedal does not go down. Release POWER button. Brake pedal should go down. Press MOTOR SWITCH button for a few seconds, and ensure brake pedal returns. Release brake pedal.
- Press MOTOR button for a few seconds then release it. Depress brake pedal and hold it down for 15 seconds. With brake pedal depressed, press MOTOR button for a few seconds. Ensure brake pedal does not pulsate. If actuator does not test as specified, replace actuator. See ABS ACTUATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .NOTE: When inspecting REAR LH position, push REAR LH POWER SWITCH button instead of POWER SWITCH button.
- Repeat steps 2) through 4) for FRONT LH, REAR RH and REAR LH positions of SELECTOR SWITCH knob. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . After all wheels are checked, press MOTOR button for a few seconds.
- Remove air cleaner. Remove Sheet "A" (SST 09990-00163), and disconnect actuator checker. Reconnect actuator harness connectors. Install air cleaner assembly. Clear diagnostic trouble codes. See CLEARING CODES .
