Removal & Installation

Oxygen sensor (O2S) mounting is in exhaust pipe, just below exhaust header(s). Oxygen sub-sensor(s), if equipped, is located in exhaust pipe(s) behind TWC, toward rear of vehicle. When removing sensor(s), ensure permanent pigtail is protected from damage. Ensure sensor(s) is free of contaminants. Remove sensor(s) from exhaust pipe(s). Avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. If engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C), sensor(s) may be difficult to remove. To install, apply anti-seize compound on sensor threads and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
