Ignition Switch

  1. Disconnect ignition switch connector. With ignition switch in specified position, check continuity between specified terminals of ignition switch connector. See IGNITION SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST table. See Fig 1. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace ignition switch.
  2. Reconnect ignition switch connector. Using voltmeter, backprobe ignition switch connector with ignition switch in specified positions. See IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUITS TEST table. If circuit conditions are not as specified, inspect and repair wiring harness as necessary.
IGNITION SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST

Lock 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 & 8 No
Accessory 2 & 3 Yes
On 2, 3 & 4; 6 & 7 Yes
Start 1, 2 & 4; 6, 7 & 8 Yes
